Scooter - Indonesian Style
Auto Tag: Car ModelingHi,
at the Frankfurt Modelshow 2007 my modelling friend Rolf from Switzerland had some Scooter kits from Tamiya. The idea was that everybody who got a kit build the Scooter for this years Modelshow in another style.
I didn′t have THE idea, at in the end I couldn′t go to the Modelshow this year, because I was in Indonesia at that time. There I saw, how Scooters are used, some as a transporter. This was the idea, I scratchbuild nearly everything except the basic Scooter.
Here the result:
This is what we got from Tamiya (scale 1:24)
… and these Scooters were my inspiration
Hi Micha,
as I said in Stuttgart yesterday: this thing is AWESOME
Excellent idea, great scratchbuilding and beautiful weathering make a truly great model!!! Hopefully we'll see all the scooters Rolf gave away in 2007 in Frankfurt '09!
Cheers
Sebastian
I can't come up with words good enough to describe it! You are a master at making it detailed AND realistic at the same time.
What a jewel. Excellent looking model considering how basic the unbuilt scooter is. This is a real prize winning showpiece.
Excellent
Cool!
Wow really cool!!!! I like the head light, very good job!!
Superb Micha
I absolutely adore it - especially the way it is "front wheel up" LOL
This is a fantastic conversion of a basic kit to a showpiece, very nice job, congrats!
Very ingenious way to represent a scooter, FANTASTIC!!
Wow,, I'm Indonesian n I'm really impressed with your scooter! It's cool and it represents the common transportation in indonesia.
Actually, in your photo '… and these Scooters were my inspiration', those 2 bikes are not scooters. In Indonesia, we call it Underbone bike or 'duck bike', because it's still bigger than the scooter like Vespa etc. The engine also placed between the handlebars and the seat, unlike the scooter. Impressive work though!
Beautiful build!
I haven't been back for 3 years now, do you have any "cool" moments while you're there?
beautiful work
