Starter removal on a 2000 lincoln town car

I am a first time owner of a 2000 lincoln town car signature series. I need help on how to find the starter and the best way to replace it. Do you have to remove the front tire or any motor mounts? Is it difficult to do yourself or should I take it to a shop?

I would buy a discounted starter + maybe have someone install it.

This is a three bolt starter, where the third bolt is said to be difficult to access. Some folks claim they can get at the third bolt with long extensions and swivel joints on their tools.

Prior to removal, you'll remove a Solenoid protector cover (which happens to also hold the trannie cooler lines) and slide this off to the side to get at the Solenoid wires / nuts. If you've done it before on any car, this is a piece of cake.. as mentioned earlier, clean and tighten everything well.
